In October 2022, Dmitri Tcherniakov’s new production of the Ring will celebrate its premiere at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. After Daniel Barenboim’s cancellation due to illness, Christian Thielemann will take over the first and third Ring cycles, Thomas Guggeis the second Ring cycle.

Anna Lapkovskaja will appear in the new Ring as Flosshilde (Das Rheingold, Götterdämmerung) and Grimgerde (Die Walküre).
Vida Miknevičiūtė will make her role debut as Sieglinde (Die Walküre) in the new Ring at the Berlin State Opera.
Evelin Novak sings Woglinde (Das Rheingold, Götterdämmerung) in the new Ring.
Lauri Vasar can be seen in the new Ring as Donner (Das Rheingold) and Gunther (Götterdämmerung).
Michael Volle sings Wotan in Das Rheingold and Die Walküre as well as Wanderer in Siegfried.
Robert Watson will make his role debut in the new Ring as Siegmund in Die Walküre.
